Hednesford Town are thrilled to announce the capture of experienced midfielder Dan Sparkes.
His career began at Southern League Histon in 2009, before joining Braintree Town in the summer of 2012. After some very successful seasons with the Iron including helping the side reach the National League play-offs, he made the move down to Torquay United in 2016.
He was a first-team regular with the Gulls, scoring six times and assisting 14 in 36 appearances. The cultured midfielder then gained a move to Dagenham and Redbridge and then onto Barnet where be spent 2 more successful seasons before moving to Maidenhead and then finishing last season back with Braintree.
Dan has racked up an impressive 366 appearances at National league level with a return of 41 goals and 46 assists in that time meaning manager Steve King was delighted to have captured his man.
Dan is an extremely experienced and clever player that brings added quality , leadership and depth to the squad. His career has been spent at Step 1 where he has more often than not achieved success with his teams and been instrumental to them all. It’s a high calibre signing and a real coup for the club
